Classes are taught by Advanced, Senior, Intermediate and Introductory teachers. All the teachers at the Institute are qualified, current members of the IYA(UK).
“I maintain a regular personal practice in which I study to develop a deeper understanding of each individual posture, and the developmental connectedness between the postures as sequenced by Guruji B.KS Iyengar; and their effects upon the body, mind & spirit.”
I started practising Iyengar Yoga in 1999 and began teaching full time in 2006. Jayne Orton has been my main teacher. I achieved a Junior Level 3 teaching certificate in April 2016. Through Jayne’s passionate, engaging and accessible teaching I am also developing a growing knowledge, interest and practice in Pranayama and Indian yoga philosophy, including the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
My teaching style is humorous, supportive & encouraging. My experience is that Iyengar yoga helps students, regardless of age or ability, to improve the general inner and outer health of their body & mind, as well as specific injuries/medical conditions, leading in time to an improved experience of life.
